About the Leadership and Diversity Chair

Message from L'Oreal about the chair and its students on how it benefits them and what you expect.  We are extremely proud to be a cofounder and partner of the ESSEC Leadership and Diversity Chair. At L’Oréal, we strongly believe that Diversity and Inclusion are key success factors for the well-being of our employees and for our business. Sharing our long-term commitment to Diversity & Inclusion and concrete actions with students enables them to have an insight into the business world, and become engaged future business leaders. For 2019 edition, 19 highly motivated students of five nationalities have asked themselves the question of how far are we not only in understanding the concepts of Leadership & Diversity but on how much further can we anchor these concepts into the business with concrete action plans and best practices. In order to do so, the students deep dived into different geographical zones, focusing on the issue of leadership with different perspectives: Age Diversity, Climat Change, Domestic Violence, Daycare, Displaced population and LGBTQ. Watch the 2019 Closure Video, discover the promotion learnings and their feedbacks on this amazing journey.

2020 edition theme will be soon announced. You want to be part of it? Apply to the Chair!

ESSEC x L'Oréal

Junko Takagi, Ph.D.

The Leadership and Diversity Chair, supported by L'Oréal, is a think tank which promotes exchanges between researchers, business leaders and students in order to develop innovative perspectives and new approaches to leadership and diversity through the creation and diffusion of knowledge (savoir), skills (savoir-faire), and attitudes (savoir-être).

The commitment by L'Oréal to support this Chair reflects the engagement and active role of these multinational enterprises in the development of a wide range of organizational diversity related activities and initiatives, and their relationship to different forms of leadership.

The Chair's key activity areas include the development and production of academic research and case studies, the organization of conferences, and a teaching program of 6 months for ESSEC students including a seminar series and projects in cooperation with our partner.

Students can inquire about the Chair activities and teaching programs throughout the academic year here. The formal application process opens in mid fall of each year. More information about the application process can be found on this website.

The Chair is open to new partnerships and projects. If you are interested in working with us, please consult our program flyer. We welcome your feedback. If you have any suggestions or questions please send us an email.
